When the power plant broke down (26 April 1986), Legasov was the first deputy director of the Kurčatov Institute of Atomic Energy. He was appointed member of the commission to which the Soviet government gave the task of investigating the causes of the disaster and taking all necessary measures to reduce the damage. InGallery was founded in 2016 by collector and patron Inga Legasova, drawing on her personal collection of paintings and sculptures. The gallery showcases a highly original intellectual resource comprising works by both contemporary and Soviet artists. One of InGallery’s key missions is to rediscover these artists and introduce them to the general public, preserving their creative legacy for future generations. A second, equally important mission for InGallery, and one that it is successfully pursuing is to identify talented but struggling young artists in need of help and support to promote themselves on the art market. InGallery offers young artists and sculptors the opportunity to exhibit their works and showcase their potential. This will encourage collectors to invest in art by contemporary artists. Among the authors who cooperate with InGallery are artists whose works are in the Museum collections of Russia, including The State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg) and The Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), as well as in private collections abroad.
